You know what January 17th is?

January 17th is National Quitters day, and it is the day most people give up on their New Year’s resolutions. And here’s the reason, it’s the letter “S”. They make new year’s resolutions.

If you make one new year’s resolution, if you say, okay, in this year I’m going to change one thing. Guess what? The chances of you being successful changing that one thing are immense.

There’s a researcher whose name is Roy Baumeister, and he talks about a thing called a cornerstone habit. If you do this one thing and succeed on that, once you succeeded on that, stack on a new thing, stack on a new thing, stack on a new thing. But if you try to do all of them at once, you’re going to fail. So the most important thing you can do is to choose one thing.
